Disney moved one step closer to announcing the specific opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the official Star Wars-themed lands located in Hollywood Studios. While we’ve known the new area would open sometime in 2019, Disney narrowed it down to specific seasons for both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in summer 2019 at Disneyland Resort in California and in late fall 2019 at Walt Disney World resort in Florida.
In addition to announcing the opening seasons, Disney also released a new teaser for the land.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will take guests across the galaxy to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. The 14-acre land will feature two attractions: one that lets guests get behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and another that puts guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. The land will also feature a cantina-style restaurant, shops, and character encounters. Disney also has plans to build a Star Wars-themed hotel resort that will supposedly connect to Galaxy’s Edge.
